Design Philosophy

My design philosophy encompasses the shear beauty of simplicity.

Design is a journey, an adventure, and when paired with honest hard work and responsible innovative technology, the possibilities are endless.  Standards, quality and craftsmanship create a strong straight-forward statement.  When Mies van der Rohe coined the phrase, "Less is More," he brilliantly summed up not only a style in the Minimalist movement, but a way of life.

Creation is the most powerful form of expression and the process is just as interesting as the end result.  When raw materials are left exposed it gives us a glimpse into that process and a more intimate appreciation for the ingenuity behind it.  Rough sawn beams, Steel framework, the gears of a watch, the elegant curve of a handcrafted chair, this is what moves us.   What makes us stop and think and appreciate.  Without a well-thought idea and a substantial foundation it is impossible to achieve a strong design.  And there is nothing more sophisticated then the honest simplicity of a well-made object... a well-made design.
